'Ali put the question as to whether you could be a Muslim and an American to rest': Boxing legend's widow and two ex-wives join thousands of mourners for traditional Islamic prayer service

The family of boxing legend Muhammad Ali (inset) joined thousands of mourners for the traditional Muslim prayer service at Kentucky's Freedom Hall on Thursday to celebrate the sporting legend's extraordinary life.

More than 14,000 thousand mourners attended the traditional Muslim Jenazah service for the three-time world champion boxer who died Friday at age 74. His fourth wife and widow, Lonnie (bottom left), daughters, Laila (top right) and Hana, and granddaughter Sydney (top right), were photographed inside looking visibly emotional alongside his coffin (main) that was wheeled into the venue. The service marks the start of two days of ceremonies honoring the Muslim-convert sports star who died one day after being taken to hospital with breathing problems linked to his lengthy battle with Parkinson's disease. In addition, Ali's second wife, Khalilah Camacho-Ali (top left), and his third wife, Veronica Porche-Ali (far left center), whom he had an affair with prior to marrying, were in attendance for the Jenazah. His first wife, Sonji Roi, passed away in 2005. Muslims have traveled from all over the world to stand shoulder-to-shoulder in a Kentucky arena for a final tribute to Ali. Former boxer Sugar Ray Leonard (bottom right) and US boxing promoter Don King (far right center) both attended the service
