Donald Trump calls Corey Lewandowski a 'good guy' and a 'talented person' but admits it is time for 'a different kind of campaign', hours after firing him

Donald Trump (left) told Bill O'Reilly Monday night that Corey Lewandowski (right) was 'a friend' whose approach had worked 'very well' during the primaries but that his campaign was ready for the next step.

Reports swirled by midday that it was Trump's adult children who forced the issue, including Ivanka (pictured inset with her husband) - who feared that Lewandowski was trying to marginalize her husband Jared Kushner's role as a trusted campaign adviser on Israel and Middle East issues. But Trump denied during his interview with O'Reilly that internal tensions and conflict between Lewandowski and other employees had caused the dismissal. He admitted office politics were 'part of the business', adding: 'Well it happens all over. You talk about office politics. It's all over. And yes, I think it does happen here too. It happens everywhere.'
