Jan Moir reflects on the 10-year anniversary of the introduction of the England squad's WAGs - an acronym used to refer to the wives and girlfriends of the country's most high-profile footballers. 


In 2006, Mrs Beckham was photographed leading the WAGs out to dinner as their partners prepared for their matches during the tournament in Germany. She was walking alongside, Coleen Rooney and Louise Owen. Becky Nicholson, who recently married Leicester City star Jamie Vardy, is in the new crop of England's WAGs (right).
