Why did a mother gun down her two daughters in horrific Texas shooting? Mystery of the birthday 'argument' at home where killer mom with a 'history of mental illness' had recently reconciled with her husband

Christy Sheats (pictured top right), the 42-year-old Texas mom who shot daughters Madison (top left), 17, and Taylor (bottom left), 22, Friday before being shot herself by police, had a history of mental health problems, it has emerged. 


Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office had been called out to talk to Christy about 'previous altercations' linked to a 'mental crisis', a spokeswoman said. She had also been reunited with husband Jason Sheats (top-right and left), 45, after a separation just before the shooting took place, neighbors said. Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Caitilin Espinosa told People that officers had been to the Sheats' home 'for previous altercations' involving Sheats' 'mental crisis'. She had also only recently ended a period of separation with husband Jason, who was the only family member to survive the incident unscathed
