Father celebrates son's 30th birthday after doctors said he would only live until age two

Dallan Cloward, from Phoenix, Arizona, was born with a cleft lip, cleft palate and weighed just three-and-a-half pounds when he was born in 1986.

He was so small that when his parents took him home from hospital, the only clothes they could get to fit him was a Cabbage Patch doll outfit. Doctors later told his parents that he had Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome - a rare developmental disorder that causes delayed growth and which, they warned, would leave Dallan in a vegetative state. He was also unlikely to survive past two years old, they said.
