Is this the world's oldest woman with Down's Syndrome? Frances battled breast cancer and tuberculosis defying all the odds to reach her 75th birthday
Frances Gillett, from Ely, Cambridgeshire, will turn 75 on Sunday. When she was born in 1941, the average life expectancy for someone with Down's Syndrome was their mid-20s.
Ms Gillett, pictured left gardening when she was in her 30s, has already celebrated the milestone with family and friends at the care home where she lives (right). Owner Wayne Bent said: 'Frances is really and truly amazing and over the years she has become more than a resident, she is like family.'
