Texas governor undergoes skin graft after suffering extensive burns on legs and feet in a hot water accident that causes him to miss Obama's visit to Dallas and Republican National Convention next week

Texas Governor Greg Abbott (pictured) missed President Barack Obama's memorial service address in Dallas today because he is recovering from extensive burns on his legs and feet. 


Abbott underwent a successful skin graft on Tuesday after he was scalded by hot water in an accident while he was on vacation with his family in Jackson Hole, Wyoming last week.In addition to missing out on Obama's visit after five officers were killed by gunman Micah Johnson, Abbott will be recovering in Austin instead of heading to Cleveland for the Republican National convention next week.
