Toddler is hospitalised with the 'worst chickenpox ever seen' after GP receptionist told his mother he DIDN'T need to see a doctor
Jasper Allen, two, from Cambridgeshire, developed chickenpox in July and his mother Sarah, 36, said she phoned the GP practice for an appointment.
But she claims the receptionist told her 'every mother thinks their child has bad chickenpox' and that seeing a doctor wouldn't be necessary. A few days later, he was hospitalised after his chickenpox sores became severely infected - and doctors said it was the worst case they had ever seen. Now the boy's mother (inset) is calling for a vaccination against the disease to be made free for all children on the NHS.
