Baby born with HALF a heart survives surgery at just 4 days old and is finally well enough to go home
Reggie Aslin, was born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome, a rare defect which means the right half of his heart did not form properly.
He was born by Caesarean-section on September 1, weighing 9lbs 12oz (inset). But he needed open heart surgery when he was just days old, leaving a massive scar on his chest (right). Now Reggie has been allowed home to Grimsby for the first time with mother Michelle (left) and father Lee. He faces more surgery in the future but his parents say they are looking forward to the future. 'We are going to give him as much love and as many memories as we can. He will have the best life he can ever have,' said Mrs Aslin.
