Ganduje Provides 789 Boreholes Under Rural Water Supply Initiative


Kano state governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has flagged off the second phase of drilling 789 hand pumped boreholes, under his administration’s Rural Water Supply Initiative.
The governor also commissioned the Albasu township water supply project constructed at the cost of N69. 1 million, expected to provide 110, 000 liters of water daily to about 10, 000 inhabitants of the town and its environs.
Similarly, Governor Ganduje commissioned the multi million naira Panda Solar Powered Project, also in Albasu local government area, where he was cheered by a tumultuous crowd from the community which has faced water shortage for several years.
In his remarks at the separate locations, the governor said water is critical to human survival thus, access to clean water for domestic and religious purposes is critical for development.
“We are confident of the importance of water to life and we know that many of our communities are challenged by lack of access to clean water. We have decided to provide sustainable water sources especially in our remote villages so as to make life more worthwhile for the people”, he maintained.
In a related development, Governor Ganduje flagged off the construction of the 12 kilometer Kachako – Jirago –Tsangaya rural road transversing parts of Takai and Albasu local government area, which is being constructed at the cost of N150. 9 million
