Leprosy Mission Spends N50m In Niger State

The Leprosy Mission Nigeria, on Sunday, said it had spent N50 million between 2013 and 2015 to execute projects in the affected communities in Niger State.
Its Operation Manager, Mr. Sunday Pius Ogbu, disclosed this to journalists, in Minna, while briefing the National Co-ordinator of the mission, Mr. Allen Ekstedt and Programme Manager, Mr. Leif. Martin, on the activities of the Leprosy Referral Hospital, Chanchaga.
Ogbu said that the N50 million was spent in carrying out numerous activities in four communities affected by leprosy.
The communities affected are Kuta in Shiroro Local Government Area, Sarkin Pawa in Munya, Zachinta in Paikoro and Chanchanga local government areas.
He said that the mission had, during the three years under review, embraced advocacy and communication, adding that under the arrangement, media workshop was organised for practising journalists.
Ogbu however stated that three years rolling support plans for leprosy-affected communities in the state commenced 2013 and would end in December 2015.
