Only a few tech savvy guys would know that by right clicking the Internet connection icon at the bottom right of a computer’s system tray, one would be able to get information such as speed, bytes sent and received and so on of the Internet connection in use.
But then that doesn’t help much, especially if you’re moving to Lekki Phase 1 and you want to know the ISP with the best download and upload speed or the ISP offering the best prices together with the best speed.
Well, thanks to Co-Creation Hub, a Lagos-based incubator and accelerator (those guys keep dishing out innovative products), such information can be got at the tap of your smartphone screen through the use of Fastornot.ng, an independent project currently in beta.
Fastornot.ng is a simple yet powerful web-based tool that helps you compare ISP performances in your neighborhood through data aggregation and analysis.
So, if you’re concerned about the speed of your current ISP, whether on your mobile device or on your computer, just use fastornot.ng to check the ISP with best speed in your area and make the switch. It’s that easy!. And as if that’s not enough, fastornot.ng also provides tips on how to control data consumption and the likes.
Fastornot.ng is currently only available to Lagos residents but I’m sure it would be made available to residents of other states once it is out of beta.
I’ve spent the last couple of minutes checking my ISP’s speed and reading the tips. I implore you to do the same. It’s really cool!!!
