Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri is learning English as he prepares for one of the Premier League’s top jobs.
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has the 48-year-old on his short-list of potential candidates to take over next summer.
And the Italian, who has just 18 months left on his contract in Turin, has set his sights on either Stamford Bridge hot-seat or the one at Manchester United.
Allegri won Serie A with AC Milan in his debut season of 2010-2011 and has been hugely successful at Juve, leading them to a Treble and the Champions League final this year - again, his first campaign in charge - to earn a nomination for FIFA’s World Coach of the Year award.
Although Juventus made a poor start to this season Allegri has turned their fortunes around and they are battling for the title again, which could leave him ready for a new challenge next summer.
Louis van Gaal is under huge pressure at Old Trafford and is still battling to keep his job after United’s desperate slump in form.
And Allegri knows the Chelsea job is definitely available after Jose Mourinho’s sacking earlier this month and Guus Hiddink being placed in temporary charge until the end of the season.
Abramovich fears Pep Guardiola has already made up his mind to move to Manchester City in the summer after announcing he will leave Bayern Munich.
Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone is also on Chelsea’s wanted list, but Allegri and current Italy boss Antonio Conte are set to be sounded out.
Conte could leave his post after the Euros next summer, although Serie A heavyweights Roma are also keen on him.
