Giraffe, a South African revolutionary online recruitment agency that aims to reduce unemployment in the country has announced the launch of a new, improved version of its candidate selection algorithm.
The new algorithm automatically identifies and selects candidates based not only on CV items such as education and work experience but also job seeker preferences such as location and job preferences – it take previous attendance and interview performance into consideration.
“We’re launching the new algorithm so that we can select candidates with better accuracy and much faster than before,” Giraffe’s Head of Product, Shafin Anwarsha said in a press release.
He added, “This means we will be able to match jobseekers with jobs they have experience and interest in doing and find the best possible candidates for businesses to recruit.”
Essentially, this means Giraffe’s candidate selection mechanism is even more powerful and accurate than it previously was, thereby giving businesses even more suitable candidates within 48 hours of request.
Sometimes last week, Giraffe reached 70k users after being operational for only 10 months, which led to the expansion of its team to accommodate its rapid growth.
Giraffe will be flying South Africa’s flag next year at the global finals of the Seedstars World startup competition in Geneva, Switzerland where it will compete with other regional winners for a sum of US$500,000 in investment.
Giraffe, founded in 2015 and headquartered in Johannesburg, is the fastest and cheapest way for businesses to recruit medium skilled workers in South Africa.
