German Vigilante Group Vows To Protect Women From Migrant Attackers As 34 Suspects Are Arrested - Including Three For Gang-Raping Two Teenagers

A week after a mob of 'drunk and stoned' asylum seekers sexually assaulted and robbed 100 women on the streets of Cologne, a vigilante group known as 'Dusseldorf is Watching' has gained more than 8,000 Facebook members.

At least 170 women have filed criminal complaints for robbery and sexual assault since New Year's Eve, when they were attacked by a group of 1,000 Arab and North African men.

Police said the attacks were committed by small groups of men who had mingled with revellers in front of Cologne's main train station and gothic cathedral (pictured, being guarded by police). German police have said 18 of the 31 suspects arrested in connection with the Cologne attacks were asylum seekers.

Two of them were carrying threatening, handwritten notes in German and Arabic. One of the messages read: 'I am going to kill you.' Performance artist Milo Moire (bottom left) stood naked outside Cologne Cathedral today with a sign that read: 'Respect us! We are not fair game, even when we are naked!'
