Jerry Hall, 59, And Rupert Murdoch, 84, Announce Their Engagement In The Times After A Whirlwind Four Month Romance

Jerry Hall and Rupert Murdoch have announced their engagement in a newspaper article, just four months into their romance.

Rupert, the executive chairman of News Corporation, which owns The Times, announced the news on the Births, Marriages and Deaths page of the newspaper.
The classified ad read: 'Mr Rupert Murdoch, father of Prudence, Elisabeth, Lachlan, James, Grace and Chloe Murdoch, and Miss Jerry Hall, mother of Elizabeth, James, Georgia and Gabriel Jagger are delighted to announce their engagement.'

A spokesperson for the Murdoch family told MailOnline: ‘They have loved these past months together, are thrilled to be getting married and excited about their future.’
It is Mr Murdoch's fourth marriage and a first for Jerry, whose unofficial ceremony to Rolling Stone rocker Mick Jagger were declared invalid in 1999 after they split in 1990.

The newspaper adds that the pair got engaged over the weekend and they made a public declaration of their love when they were spotted arm-in-arm on the Golden Globes red carpet.
There was no visible ring on Jerry's hand as she walked the red carpet hand in hand with Mr Murdoch at the Beverly Hilton.
The glamorous outing came just over three months after it was revealed that the pair had struck up a relationship after first being introduced in Australia by his sister and niece, two years after the media baron's split with Wendi Deng after 14 years of marriage.

They made their public debut at the rugby World Cup Final between New Zealand and Australia at Twickenham in October.
A source said: ‘He is very happy, and she makes him laugh.’
MailOnline has contacted a spokesperson for both Jerry Hall and Rupert Murdoch for comment.
Both Jerry and Rupert looked happy and relaxed as they smiled for the cameras on the carpet at the Golden Globes.
Jerry modelled an elegant floor-length black gown, which was embellished with stunning sequin detail, while Rupert opted for a dapper suit and tie combination, finishing his look off with a pair of tinted glasses.
Jerry left her blonde hair hanging in loose waves around her shoulders, and paired her chic ensemble with a simple black and silver clutch bag and a pair of pointed-toe black pumps.
And once inside the award ceremony, the couple were lucky enough to share a table with some of Hollywood's most illustrious stars, with Jerry being seated next to Best Actor in a Motion Picture nominee Matt Damon.

Rupert and Jerry's appearance at the Globes marks one of the few times that they have stepped out together as a couple.
In October, the pair attended the final of the Rugby World Cup in London together to lend their support to Rupert's home nation of Australia as they went up - and eventually lost against - New Zealand in the sporting battle.
At the time, a family friend of the Murdochs told The Mail on Sunday: 'It's all very new. They are really enjoying each other's company very much.'
Another friend elaborated: 'He is very fond of her. There is no question that they are a couple,' before adding that both Rupert and Jerry's children were aware of the relationship.
The blossoming romance is the first for Rupert since his very public split from his ex-wife Wendi Deng, who was pictured walking past the late David Bowie's apartment on Monday in New York.
His split from the Chinese businesswoman - who he met when she was interning at one of his TV stations - in 2013, followed rumors of her 'infatuation' with former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

But Rupert is no stranger to commitment, having been married twice before his relationship with Wendi, first to Patricia Booker, a former flight attendant from Melbourne, and then to Scottish journalist Anna Torv.
He was said to be hurt over his break-up with third wife Wendi Deng.
It was reported shortly afterwards that Tony Blair was seeing Miss Deng in his home without his knowledge.
Meanwhile Jerry had a 20-year-old relationship with Rolling Stones rocker Mick Jagger, which ended in 1999. The couple have four children together, two daughters - Elizabeth and Georgia - and two sons - Gabriel and James.
Rupert has six children from his relationships with his three previous wives, including two daughters, Chloe and Grace, from his marriage to Wendi.
Previous boyfriends include George Waud, a film producer, a banker, Tim Attias, and her most recent squeeze scientist Armand Leroi.
Before Mr Leroi, she enjoyed an intense romance with millionaire property tycoon Warwick Hemsley.
During her time with Mr Leroi she said: ‘I’d like to settle down with someone. There’s nothing nicer than someone who is loving and caring.
