The Village That Won't Stop Flooding: Devastated Residents Hit For The FOURTH Time In Just Eight Weeks As Storm Jonas Causes Fresh Misery And Triggers 100 Flood Warnings Across Britain

A village in Cumbria still recovering from the devastating floods in December has been hit for the fourth time in eight weeks. Glenridding, at the southern end of Ullswater, has experienced a deluge of rain which has heaped fresh misery on the community still reeling from Storms Desmond, Eva and Frank.

The owners of the Glenridding Hotel posted a message on Facebook today revealing it had been flooded again and uploaded a link to the Travis song 'Why Does It Always Rain On Me?' In the emotional post, they said: 'We are feeling very emotional here as we are receiving the full brunt of the water yet again.' They posted pictures showing a swollen river rushing past the hotel, parts of the grounds under water and sandbags being put up inside the flooded hotel.

Parts of Wales, Yorkshire and the south west were also lashed by unprecedented levels of rain and 70mph winds after a storm which has killed 43 people in the US arrived in the UK.

The Environment Agency (EA) has issued a number of red warnings - the most severe on its scale - across parts of Cumbria, while Army personnel and specialist flood teams have been deployed to inspect and repair defences.
