Investors’ at the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Thursday staked N3.74 billion on 2.64 billion shares exchanged in 3,057 deals.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that this represented a growth of 100 per cent compared with 1.32 billion shares worth N2.91 billion traded in 4,012 deals on Wednesday.
A breakdown of the activity chart indicated that Wema Bank was investors’ delight with 2.45 billion shares valued N2.38 million transacted in 38 deals.
FBN Holding came second with 40.70 million shares worth N161.23 million in 316 deals, while FCMB Group traded 38.03 million shares valued N33.89 million achieved in 177 deals.
Transcorp transacted 18.73 million shares worth N21.90 million traded in 65 deals and Zenith Bank exchanged 12.26 million worth N158.28 million transacted in 249 deals.
Nestle recorded the highest price loss to lead the los chart with N37 to close at N703 per share.
7UP followed with N9.34 to close at N177.61, while Dangote Cement lost N2.70 to close at N124.30 per share.
Julius Berger decreased by N2 to close at N41.50 and Unilever shed N1.46 to close at N30.35 per share.
Consequently, the market capitalisation lost N30 billion to close at N8.088 trillion compared with N8.118 trillion posted on Wednesday.
Also, the All-Share Index which opened at 23,605.89 lost 88.70 points or 0.38 per cent to close at 23,517.19.
On the other hand, Forte Oil led gainers’ table, increasing by N26.50 to close at N510 per share.
Guinness garnered N5.58 to close at N122.34, while International Breweries went up by N1.73 to close at N19.55 per share.
Presco gained 75k to close at N34 and ETI advanced by 49k to close at N15.49 per share.
