A high-protein diet - such as the one Kim Kardashian is following to lose her baby weight after giving birth to her son Saint, makes people feel fuller - as protein activates the satiety hormone, experts at Purdue University in Indiana found.
Lead study author Dr Richard Mattes said: 'A good deal of evidence suggests that protein activates satiety hormone release and so should be most strongly tied with fullness ratings.'
He added: 'If these effects are sustained over the long-term - and our study only looked at short-term effects - increased protein intake may aid in the loss or maintenance of body weight.'
