Fortysomething Fiona McIntosh and her 15-year-old daughter give their verdicts on the trendy M&S range that will divide generations

A mother and daughter duo, Fiona, left, and Ruby McIntosh, 15, right, both tried Alexa Chung's M&S collection. 

The whole purpose of the Archive by Alexa collection, which landed in 66 stores across the country yesterday, is to entice a new generation of customers into the doors of good old Marks & Sparks. 

Both mother and daughter found items that they loved from the range, which dives into M&S' archives for inspiration. Fiona was enamoured by the Lady Di inspired Harry shirt, far left, and Frances trench, second from left, while Ruby loved the checked Lydia mini skirt and Nellie Chelsea boots, far right.
