For his new book, Kardashian Dynasty, Ian Halperin used unrivalled Hollywood contacts, including friendships within the family, to disclose the story behind 'Brand K'. 

In it, he establishes that their tawdry soap opera follows a hard-nosed and mercenary script - and at the heart of it lies a cynical refusal to let anything stand in the way of Brand K. 

The book will also look at Kris Jenner's relationship with her husband Bruce, her control of the family's finances - and how she persuaded Kim (centre and bottom right) to pose for Playboy and release her daughter's infamous and degrading sex tape. 

The book also looks at the story behind Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's wedding (top left). And there is one piece of manipulation that should cause even the most ardent Kardashian fans to pause, and that is the treatment of 66-year-old Bruce Jenner, the Olympic decathlon her who today goes by the name of Caitlyn (top right with Kris).
