'I fell to my knees and felt sick to my stomach': Man who planned to propose to his girlfriend on holiday in Vegas was left stunned when airport staff told him he couldn't fly due to US passport clampdown
Neil Webster from Manchester had planned to travel on May 2 with his partner Louise Donnelly (pictured with Neil and their son, Ronnie) to the US, where he wanted to propose to her.
After arriving for their Virgin Atlantic flight at Manchester International Airport, Mr Webster claims he was told by a member of staff at the check-in desk that as his passport - which was issued prior to the biometric documents in 2006 - did not have a chip, he would not be able to fly.
