The campaigner, pictured, who lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts, said she remembers being taken to an 'old-looking building'. She decided to speak out on camera to highlight her story in a bid to help prevent others from going through the same ordeal. It is estimated that more than 500,000 women and girls in the US could be at risk of FGM.
