Married father-of-three Antonio Horta Osorio spent time in a hotel room with Dr Wendy Piatt while in Singapore for a conference.


When the story broke, Mr Horta Osorio, 52, was on holiday in his native Portugal but was due back in the office this week. He will send a memo to bank staff expressing 'deep regret' for any embarrassment caused by his relationship with Dr Piatt, 45, director general of the top Russell Group of universities.
