Google’s Onebox Offers Nigerians Opportunity to Follow Rio2016 Activities

All eyes would be on the opening ceremony of the 2016 Olympics in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, come Saturday August 6. Not everyone will have a front row seat at the world’s biggest sporting event, but that’s no reason to miss out on the action from Day 1..

In celebration of the Rio 2016 Olympics, Google has launched  some useful, informative and fun features across Search that will help you stay in the know about your favourite teams, races, matches and athletes.

Google’s One Box feature provides a full schedule of each day’s activities all in one place, making it easier to follow events.
Type “Olympics 2016” into your browser for an overview of the games, featured sports, competing athletes and countries, medal standings and more.

Go Team, Go!
Find out who’s representing Nigeria at the Olympics this year with One Box.

There are a couple of well known faces, including sprinter and medal hopeful Blessing Okagbare;  Table Tennis veteran Segun Toriola and 2014 Commonwealth Gold Medallist in the Long Jump, Ese Brume.

Team Nigeria has  more diversity this year, as the country  is also represented in Canoe/Slalom for the second time by Jonathan Akinyemi, while Chierika Ukogu wears Naija colours in one of the individual rowing events.
