Michael Phelps beats his old rival Ryan Lochte one last time for gold medal number 22 - yet his adorable son Boomer still manages to steal the show

Phelps has now won this event for four straight Olympics and made the number four with his fingers as he celebrated the win. 


It was the final race for Lochte and Phelps after a 12-year-long Olympic journey together. Phelps now has 22 Olympic gold medals and has won four in Rio.
