Controversial U.S soccer star Hope Solo has lashed out at the Swedish women's team after they knocked the Americans out of the Olympics with a 4-3 penalty shoot-out victory in the quarterfinals on Friday. 


Solo (middle and inset) said: 'we lost to a bunch of cowards. The better team did not win.' With the loss, the three-time defending champion U.S. team will miss the Olympic final for the first time.
