Cassandra Barns, a London-based nutritionist, says some of the most common food items in homes can all be used to make a quick and healthy meal.
High-protein pasta (top left) provides vital carbohydrates and protein together while mixed nuts and dried fruit (middle left) can give a great on-the-go snack. Manuka honey (top right) has healing, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties while tinned beans (bottom right) are a good mix of carbohydrates and protein. Porridge oats (bottom middle) help with muscle recovery and relaxation and tinned sardines (bottom left) are one of the best non-dairy sources of calcium.
