Speaking in Abuja at the opening of the 32nd Annual National Conference/Scientific Workshop of the Nigerian Institute of Science Laboratory Technology (NISLT), Onu said it was imperative for the country to begin preparation for a post-crude oil economy.
He said this would guard the economy against slipping further into recession.He stressed that systematic utilisation and application of science and technology has the capacity to improve the living standards of Nigerians and the economy.
The minister was represented by the Director of Science and Technology Promotion in the ministry, Ekanem Udoh.Acting Registrar/Director General of NISLT, Mr. Yemi Gbadegesin said the institute had resolved to improve the capacity of its members to achieve quality laboratory system in all aspects of the economy and reduce reliance on crude oil.
