Sheridan Smith was given a rousing reception on Thursday evening after returning to the stage for the first time following the death of her father Colin.
The actress and singer, 35, commanded attention in a striking gold wrap dress as she celebrated the opening of intimate Italian bar, club and pizzeria Bunga Bunga in London’s Covent Garden.
In high spirits throughout the night, Sheridan entertained guests with performances of two songs from her West End show Funny Girl – People and Don’t Rain on My Parade.
The versatile star also indulged in some light cabaret with the venue’s in-house drag act Johnny Sizzle.
Her appearance served a dual purpose, with Sheridan taking the opportunity to tease her return to Funny Girl – in which she takes the lead as army wife Fanny Brice – and an ensuing national tour.
The celebrated actress has been largely absent following the tragic death of her father Colin, who lost his battle with cancer at the age of 80 in December.
