Intel,
renowned semiconductor chip makers, has begun accepting applications for its
inaugural Intel Student Partner Program in Nigeria from students of Federal
University of Technology, Akure; Rivers State University of Science and
Technology, Port-Harcourt, and Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.
The Intel Student Partner Program, which was announced some months
ago during the launch of Intel Developer Zone Program, is designed for
extremely brilliant active students to enhance their professional development and
soft skills, meet and collaborate with interesting people in Nigeria and to
take centre stage at events on campus by way of introducing Intel’s range of
products to fellow students.
To qualify for the program, participants must be studying Computer
Science or any Engineering-related course in any of the three universities the
program is open to on a full time basis, have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point
Average (CGPA) of 3.5 and have leadership experience.
Access to mentors within Intel, profiling within the Intel
Developer Zone, opportunity to participate in selected Intel events both
locally and internationally, monthly stipends of $50 and branded Intel
merchandise are some of the benefits students who eventually become Intel
Student Partners stands to gain.
The commencement date for the program, which typically runs for a
year, is unknown at the moment but application is open till September
25, with students being notified within 7 days of their application date
concerning the status of their application.
The Intel Student Partner Program is an all-encompassing program
which gives Student Partners the opportunity to work closely with Intel and its
latest technology.
