Microsoft yesterday revealed a new challenger to the Google Pixel C and Apple’s iPad Pro tablet called the Surface Pro 4. Similar to the Surface tablet unveiled last year, it’s equipped with a 12.3-inch that uses the Pixel Sense technology – “thin optical stack” capable of over 5 million pixels and 267 ppi, a front-facing camera that integrates Microsoft’s Hello for an easier login to your PC with your face or using a bio-metric input.
The Surface Pro 4 tab promises faster processing power than the Pro 3 and the MacBook Air (50 percent faster), according to the company’s Panos Panay. Who also said Microsoft is on the move to “make the most productive devices on the planet.”
In addition, it’s powered by a sixth-generation Intel Core i7 processor, putting a 16GB RAM and an on-board storage of up to 1 terabyte. There’s also a $130 thin Type Cover for a nicer type feel on the Pro 4 (compatible with the Surface Pro 3) with a larger “high precision trackpad”, a fingerprint sensor. And a Dock that puts four USB 3.0 ports, Ethernet and two 4K DisplayPorts is also made available.
