Incredible 4D Video Shows A Baby DANCING, Scratching Its Eyes, Yawning And Even Waving In The Womb

Life before birth is still largely a mystery to expectant parents, who have to rely on a handful of scans during pregnancy for a glimpse of their baby.
But a 4D ultrasound video uploaded to the Meddy Bear Facebook page shows an unborn baby is already very active.

It's not known where the ultrasound was filmed or who the parents are, but their baby has certainly become an internet star already with the video clocking up more than 2.9 million views.

The footage starts with the baby facing away from the camera, but he or she quickly twirls around for a close up.
As the baby turns it raises both its arms and legs, no doubt giving its mother a strong kicking sensation.

The baby can then be seen in an upright position doing a lot of wriggling, as if its performing a dance.
Then it starts to lean forward and bend, while kicking out its arms and legs as if its in the boxing ring.

However, when babies yawn in the womb it's not necessarily a sign of being sleepy or bored.
A study by scientists at the University of Durham found that foetal yawning is an essential process linked to brain development.
The next frame is a split second shot, which shows the baby enthusiastically scratching its eye.
Then there's another wide-mouthed yawn, and this time the baby adorably places a finger on its chin.
Another shot shows the child placing a hand to its face, before flapping it up and down repeatedly as its waving.

As it bobs around in the amniotic fluid, it can be seen playing with its fists - placing them on top of each other as if its playing the One Potato, Two Potato game.
A more relaxed shot shows the baby sitting scrunched up, tapping its toes with a little hand.
Then, as it lies on its back, it stretches its arms and legs right out.
The video ends by zooming back in on the baby's face. As it opens its mouth, it looks like its cheekily sticking its tongue out.
Finally, as it settles down to sleep, its mouth and chin start twitching.

Many of the viewers on Facebook left a comment to say they were overwhelmed by the video, and the amount of action it shows.
Glenda Clinton said: 'It is so amazing. Being pregnant is a wonderful blessing. They are so sweet even in the womb, not only after they have been born.'
'That is amazing,' Jennifer Munn replied. 'Just shows how they are little action babies before they are born.'
Kirsty Hartley added: 'Wow! Freaks me out a little bit to see how much the baby moves, but also amazing.'

Kelly Cordin said she was going to show the video to her 10-year-old son.
'He is very excited about becoming a big brother within the next four weeks,' she said.
Expectant mum Christine Johnson Burkey, commented: 'That's exactly what it feels like is happening in my belly. So cute. And funny. My little guy is totally punching me like this picture.'
Connie Girlando described the video as 'beyond amazing'.
'I had five kids and to know they all kicked was normal to feel. But to see that they move their hands around and play, and open and close their mouths is really mystifying. Life in the beginning - amazing!'
