Welcome to the outside world! Adorable seven-week-old baby gorilla Afia gets her first taste of the open air after being born by caesarean at Bristol Zoo

Seven-week-old Afia, the first gorilla born by caesarean section in the UK, blinked in the bright sunshine but looked contented as her keepers began familiarising her with the British climate (pictured main). 

The baby western lowland gorilla - a critically endangered species - was delivered by emergency caesarean at Bristol Zoo last month when her mother Kera (pictured inset) became ill.
