Journalist Jane Gordon (right), from London, struggled to read her daughter Bryony's second memoir, Mad Girl, which detailed her battles with mental health since she was a child. 


Bryony was just 12 (inset, at school, and left) when she first bout of OCD, a condition which would plague her for years to come. Here, Jane reveals her guilt at not being able to do more for her eldest child, and her pride at what Bryony has achieved for others battling similar problems.
