Racegoers descended on Royal Ascot this morning for Ladies Day, with elaborate millinery - and exotic tattoos - taking centre stage on one of the most fashionable days of the racing calendar. 


One glammed-up guest, Thea Pearce, 38, from Stamford, Lincolnshire, explained how her ink of a lion, feathers and jewels represented 'strength, power and happiness'. Meanwhile, revellers got into the spirit of things as the champagne flowed and they cheered on the riders (inset).
