Heartbreak for Lizzie: Team GB's Armitstead falls short in her bid for Olympic glory as cyclist admits she feels 'exhausted' after row over her three missed drugs tests

The 27-year-old cyclist said she was looking forward to spending more time with her family and 'people that care about her' after finishing fifth in the women's road race in Rio.

It came after comments by French rival Pauline Ferrand-Prevot suggested she had received special treatment to be allowed to compete in the first place. Speaking after the race she said she was proud of her efforts despite finishing 20 seconds behind Dutch winner Anna van der Breggen.
