Hospice staff made the shocking discovery after Sylvia Kennedy, 71, was transferred from the Royal Oldham Hospital.
She had been admitted to hospital for an emergency amputation. But her health rapidly deteriorated so her family made the decision to move her to a hospice and say their goodbyes. They were horrified when employees there informed them they had found the maggots when the undressed a wound.
