Parts of Britain woke up to a blanket of snow this morning with up to 15cm falling in places after temperatures plummeted to -11C overnight.
Areas across the country including High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire, London (top right), Kent, Surrey (centre), swathes of Yorkshire and Cumbria and Northumberland all awoke to a coating of snow, while much of the country saw a heavy frost.
The Met Office said around 10C-15C of snow was recorded in parts of Cumbria, the Pennines and on the Scottish borders while 5cm fell in communities across west Yorkshire including the town of Bingley.
