6 Students Win Total Nigeria Scholarship in Koko Community


Total Nigeria plc held a selection examination in view ofits Scholarship Scheme for Koko indigenes.
This took place at the Iwere College Hall, Koko. 94 first year Junior Secondary students from 6 Schools in Koko participated in the scholarship exercise.

The schools involved are Iwere College, Fountain Secondary School, Christ the Saviour Secondary School, Christian World Secondary School, Beach Secondary School and St. Michael’s Hall Secondary School.
The examination comprised Mathematics, English and General Knowledge questions set and moderated by external examination consultants.  Assessment was done immediately after the exams with technical assistance provided by Teachers and National Youth Service Corps members of the community.
Present to witness and participate in the process from the Koko community are some members of the KCMA Education subcommittee Mr. Samson Edun, Omajuwa Eyito and Mr. Eyide Michael.
The successful candidates were immediately announced at the venue and they were visibly excited.   Formal notification was issued to the students and their parents, the schools and the Education Sub-Committee of the Koko Community Management Authority (KCMA).
Under the scheme, Total provides scholarship to the beneficiaries from JSS1 until the students complete their secondary school education in Koko. Till date, the scheme has 5 sets of beneficiaries.
Successful candidates of the 2016Total Nigeria Plc scholarship Scheme are:  Ezekiel Oyowe, Adaniortishe Tonwe Precious, Tuale Happiness, Tonwe Innocent, Otshowo Emmanuel and Emaye Jonah.As part of criteria for the scholarship scheme, the students are expected to maintain an average of 70% general academic rating every school term to continue to benefit from the scheme.   This initiative commenced in Koko in 2012.
