This is seriously the cutest thing we’ve ever heard! Nick Cannon‘s, 36, dad, James, was the bearer of good news today, as he gave HollywoodLife.com an EXCLUSIVE update on his son’s relationship with Mariah Carey, 46. “Mariah and Nick are still very close and they still have a lot of love for one another,” James tells us. “They have already picked out their Halloween costumes, for both them and the kids, and this is a fun thing that they like to do together.”

The songstress and the America’s Got Talent host share two adorable kids together — twinsMoroccan and and Monroe. With Halloween just around the corner, it’s the perfect time to focus on positive things like trick or treating instead of worrying about the James Packer fight. “Both Nick and Mariah have busy schedules, but they will be doing their best to spend time with the kids over the holidays,” continues James. “I am proud of them as a couple and the way they have handled all the media speculation that constantly surrounds them.”

With the outcome of James and Mariah’s engagement still up in the air, it’s nice to know that she won’t be all alone during Thanksgiving and Christmas. This news comes after reports that claimed the Australian businessman dumped his fiancée for overspending, which sounds pretty bizarre since he’s rich AF. The singer’s team claims Mariah and James’ explosive fight in Greece last month is the REAL reason why they’re taking time apart.
